Asia Trip Final Considerations...

While  slanted eyes looked at me, mine were wide opened...

And I have to say thanks...

To all the nice people I´ve met, the awesome time I´ve had, and even the downs and cons of my sick stomach coming from lack of a long  Asian Food history; the shopping/bargaining experience at Stanley Market and Shenzhen... This Asia trip had ups and downs, as any adventure would. There was a risk to be taken, a challenge to be faced, surprises waiting in each corner and each step.

But the most delightful of them all, were not the places I´ve visited, the food I ate, or the things I bought.  The most amazing, rich, treasured surprised were the people! The wonderful people I came to meet and whose company I was able to enjoy. As I like to say, it was a “very condensed vacation time”. Just very few days to experience so much. So many new people met in little time. An incredible amount of life lived in just over a month.

No wonder my body wanted to shut down after a while. I haven´t had such an energetic environment experience  for so long. I recall when, for some time in life on my twenties  still living in Sao Paulo. I remember back then I swore to myself not to live in such a busy area anymore. It made me sick, too many people around all the time, I felt overwhelmed, scared and stressed out. I couldn´t breathe. I was afraid of criminals. But then, after so many years, Hong Kong experience came to my life. A lot of people, little room to move when you ride the subway, almost can´t breathe.

But – surprise ! No threat. Those people mean no harm to me. The shopkeepers, the salespeople don´t get stressed out when you bargain with them. They have their sense of humour! I loved it. They are so peaceful, although rushing and in a hurry – probably to make more and more money. That´s one of their main concerns – make money. The other one is not actually a concern – it´s a pleasure – EAT. For most Chinese there´s another indulgence  which is Gambling. That´s it. Very simple. Very predictable. And this gives me a lot of tranquility. No joke!

Because I can always guess what they´re up to!
